Sooo this post is going to be pretty light on food – I didn’t really eat/create anything interesting since my last post. Sad, right? Although, I DID have Panda Express, which, in my opinion, is QUALITY fast food. I LIVE for their low mien and am a huge fan of the mushroom chicken. Any other Panda lovers out there? Most people I know think it’s disgusting, which I do NOT understand, but hey, to each their own, right (for example, I think Choo Choo’s is GROSS)?
The only other mentionable food creation from this weekend is the granola I made twenty minutes ago. Usually I make it plain, but lately I’ve been adding various nuts and dried fruit to it, which makes it taste extra spectacular.
Hi, my name is Sara, and I’m a granola addict.
This granola contains chopped dates, raisins, sunflower seeds and chopped walnuts, along with some brown sugar, cinnamon and maple syrup. I baked it at 275 for 30 minutes, stirring every 10, then increased the temperature to 300 for the last thirty minutes. Superb granola, if I do say so myself.
I don’t know about you guys, but I love surveys. Did ya’ll post surveys on bulletins during the days of Myspace? Man, so narcissistic, but so addicting.
[SIDE NOTE: Brownies + Chocolate pudding = …I can’t even think of a word to describe the amazingly awesome chocolate-ness of it. Thanks for the inspiration, Jenny!]
Anywho, Shelley (my awesome roommate) tagged me, meaning I get to share meaningless information about myself with all you good folk! I’m also supposed to come up with my own 8 questions and tag 8 more people. Normally I’m too lazy to do this kind of thing, but my boredom outweighs my laziness tonight, so here we go!
1. What is your all time favorite TV show?
Well, if we’re not counting the cartoons, then probably The Office. Although The OC was REALLY awesome back in the day…
Oh, and Gilmore Girls is great, too.
2. What show reminds you of your childhood?
The Brady Bunch. I always used to watch it on Nick at Night after Rugrats. Also: Legends of the Hidden Temple, Double Dare, Clarissa Explains it All, Global Guts, Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina the Teenage Witch
3. If you could be on a show, which one would it be?
4. Which character from any show would you choose to be your best friend?
Jim. Then our friendship would blossom into love.
5. Which character from any show would you choose to be your significant other?
Jim. And secretly, Harvey from Sabrina.
6. Which tv character do you feel like you relate to and why?
Rory – We’re pretty similar, personality wise. Also, probably Ren from Even Stevens, except I’m a little less high strung.
7. If you could pick one show to make a movie, which one would you choose?
Oh, I’m definitely not a fan of TV show movies….I’d like to see The Hills: The Movie. It would be SO awesomely bad.
8. What, in your opinion, is the worst tv show ever made?
Degrassi. Lara is watching it right now and it is SO terrible. And The City. At least The Hills was the first out of the two…
Okay, so now my 8 questions:
1. Who was your first celebrity crush/obsession?
2. What was your favorite lunch to take to school when you were little?
3. What cartoons did you watch as a kid?
4. What was the grossest thing you ate as a kid?
5. What was your favorite Disney movie when you were little?
6. What was your best Halloween costume?
7. What was your favorite cereal back in the day?
Apparently I can’t count. Here’s question 8. Did you have a special beanie baby in your life when you were little?
Now I’m going to awkwardly transition to the results of something totally ambitious and seemingly impossible that my sister and I did (out of boredom) on Friday – ALL of the PIXAR movies ranked from worst to best.
Yep. We are THAT into Disney/PIXAR. At first we tried to rank them outright, but then decided to use a point system. We gave points between 1 (worst) and 10 (best) for five categories: story, humor, warm fuzzies, characters, and scenery. Why scenery? Well, Lara and I are kind of into scenery porn in movies. Ultimate scenery porn movies are Howl’s Moving Castle and Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley version, always). So anyways, we assigned points and then totaled them – here are the results!
8. The Incredibles
7. A Bug’s Life
6. Toy Story
5. (Tie) Monster’s Inc. and Ratatouille
4. Toy Story 2
3. (Tie) WALL-E and Toy Story 3
2. Finding Nemo
By no means do we hate any of these movies…well, except for Cars. We feel that PIXAR dropped the ball on that one.
Anyways, I was a little surprised by the results. I’m a HUGE fan of A Bug’s Life, but according to our point system, it was pretty mediocre in all five categories. I think that UP is the perfect winner, though. It has an amazing story (an old guy with a flying house and a rag-tag team made up of a chubby boy scout, talking dog and a weirdo bird), lots of humor (Kevin. And Dug.), LOTS of warm fuzzies (one of two PIXAR movies to make me cry), very memorable characters, and TONS of scenery porn.
Overall, I think this list is pretty accurate for Lara and me – what do you guys think??
Well, that’s enough rambling from me…looking forward to some Vietnamese tomorrow!
